It is currently running at the Four Gallery in Gothenburg until November 4th, a Tanel Veenre solo exhibition entitled CRUX. It is one of the exhibitions and events taking place in the Swedish city during Kulturnatta and it is also part of GIBCA Extended – a satellite program of Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art.
Tanel Veenre investigates the shape of the cross. Power, religion and male dominance has had a crucial impact on Christian religion. As a jewellery artist Veenre analyses the subject through body related objects, whch plays with sacred themes and eroticism.
The Estonian artist Tanel Veenre is one of the brightest stars in the jewelry universe. He brings up creatures from the depths of the oceans and covers them with a shimmer from distant galaxies.
Veenre combines musical tones and poetry with courage and bold themes creating a magical, magnetic world that attracts and captivates, but also challenge you as the viewer and wearer.
